The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf political party used an AI tool from ElevenLabs to create a voice clone of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, allowing Khan to make a four-minute speech as part of a "virtual rally" on social media despite being in prison since August for allegedly leaking classified documents.

Khan sent a shorthand script through his lawyers that was expanded to match his rhetorical style. The text was then dubbed into audio using the voice clone tool, overlaid with historical footage and still images of Khan.

The virtual rally was viewed by more than 4.5 million people across Facebook, X, and YouTube.
