The Biden administration announced the investment of $5 billion in a public-private consortium aimed at supporting research and development in advanced computer chips.

The Biden administration announced that it would invest $5 billion in the National Semiconductor Technology Center, a public-private consortium that will support the research and development of advanced computer chips.

The center would not only fund new chip designs and prototypes, but also train specialized workers for the chip industry.
